In the twenties of the last century Willy Drube, the apothecary of the little village Schierke in the Harz, Germany, had to cure many digestive problems of spa guests who ate too fat. He created a herbal liqueur which got very popular. It’s dark colour with red hues was reminiscent of the granit of a famous rock nearby - the “Feuerstein” (fire rock). So it got it’s name.

In 1924 Willy Drube applied his herbal liqueur for patent. Until today it is made after the same recipe, delivered only within the family from one generation to another.
